The sixth vintage from exquisite vineyards that surround the picturesque Mt. George, an inactive volcano situated northeast of downtown Napa. Gerhard’s diligent farming and extreme crop thinning has led to this beautiful wine. The 2004 Syrah Mt. George Vineyard sold out just one month after it was released, we couldn’t wait to release this stunner – the 2006 Syrah Mt. George Vineyard is one of our favorites to date!!
The nose advances through a succession of enticing aromas, starting with smoke and tar, opening into lychee, and arriving at deeply concentrated roasted chestnuts, pepper, and sandalwood. The powerful mouth features a condensed center, with jammy and earthy flavors, and a focused yet extremely long finish.
